On April 27, 2025, just days after a large wildfire in Ocean County, a fire broke out at a mulch yard in Atco, NJ. Officials evacuated 50 homes (voluntary, not mandated), as the flame quickly escaped the 15 acre facility and into a large field nearby.

In less than 24 hours, the blaze was over 90% contained and everyone was able to return home.
